Join our dedicated team as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) with Protouch Staffing. We are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule:
Guaranteed hours of 24 hours per week, with shifts primarily during the day. Orientation will consist of 12 hours to ensure you are well-prepared for your role.
Required Certifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess the following certifications: ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine Required (Certification), NIHSS, and PALS.
Shift Details:
Shifts are 12 hours long, scheduled for every other weekend, with the expectation to float to other areas as needed based on prior training.
Cancellation Policy:
The hospital reserves the right to cancel shifts up to three times per contract, which may include full or partial shifts. Compensation may be provided for certain canceled shifts.
Unit Information:
The Emergency Department is a Critical Assess Level III Stroke Center, equipped to administer medications such as TPA and facilitate patient transfers. The unit typically treats an average of 14-19 patients daily, with the capacity to see up to 30 during peak times.
Nurse-Patient Ratios:
Our staffing model aims to maintain a ratio of two nurses to five patients, allowing for shared responsibilities and support from the house supervisor as needed.
Experience Requirements:
We seek candidates with at least one year of experience in emergency nursing. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
Common Patient Types:
The ER handles a diverse range of cases, including pediatric to geriatric patients, and some psychiatric cases, although pediatric admissions are not conducted.
Additional Responsibilities:
Registered Nurses will perform essential tasks such as drawing labs, administering breathing treatments, and monitoring patients using Nihon Kohden telemetry systems.
Orientation and Training:
Unit-specific orientation will be tailored based on individual experience, typically lasting 1-2 days.
Team Environment:
Our team is small and cohesive, fostering a friendly atmosphere where everyone knows each other well.
