Outpatient Vascular Ultrasound Specialist

Position Overview:
The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist plays a crucial role in the diagnostic imaging process at Columbia Orthopedic Group. This position focuses on conducting ultrasound examinations to assist in the evaluation and management of venous and arterial disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ultrasound imaging with proficiency, including guiding procedures such as Endovenous Thermal Ablation and Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy.
- Conduct Doppler scans and vein mapping for both Deep and Superficial Venous Systems.
- Execute lower extremity arterial assessments and Ankle-Brachial Indices (ABIs).
- Document findings accurately in the electronic medical record during each patient visit.
- Prepare patients for procedures and provide clear explanations regarding ultrasound processes.
- Deliver preliminary findings to the interventional radiologist in both oral and written formats.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring cleanliness and operational readiness.
- Assist with inventory management and ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:
- Normal vision and hearing capabilities, with effective communication skills.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 20 pounds.
- Work primarily in a well-lit, climate-controlled medical office environment.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Two years of experience in ultrasound technology within a vein or vascular clinic is preferred.
- RVS, RVT, or RPhS credentials with venous ultrasound experience are advantageous, though motivated candidates with a strong work ethic will be considered for training.
