Your Role

The Must-Haves
To be considered for this role, you must have a current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing, and hold current American Heart Association BLS certification. Additionally, you must be able to work days (United States of America) and be willing to contribute to the team's success without being asked.
Your Everyday Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment, participating in quality improvement initiatives, advocating for infection control procedures, and providing exceptional patient care. You will also be expected to prepare patients for examination, treatment, and/or procedures, record vital signs, identify abnormal values, and emergent situations. Furthermore, you will be responsible for administering prescribed medication and/or vaccinations, maintaining medications, and demonstrating proper storage, logs, or disposal of expired medications. Additionally, you will gather appropriate clinical documentation, obtain medical records when needed or requested by the medical provider, document clinical tasks, testing, and procedures appropriately in the patient medical record, navigate electronic medical records to obtain records, update patient information, and schedule follow-up appointments. You will also collect specimens for testing and/or transport, maintain strict patient confidentiality and privacy of personal health information, obtain laboratory and radiology results, medical records, update patient demographic data, and gather appropriate clinical documentation. Finally, you will ensure patient safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement, and other regulatory standards and compliance; prepare safety reports and report safety hazards to appropriate personnel, initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services, and contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
