Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly understands and consistently applies all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Actively participates in safety initiatives and assists in the maintenance of equipment, ensuring proper lockout and permit procedures are followed.
- Reports incidents promptly and takes appropriate actions during emergencies, including process shutdowns and notifications to supervisory personnel.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization within the work area, including the disposal of waste materials.
Operational Duties:
- Gains a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing processes and the impact of operational decisions.
- Monitors and records critical equipment settings, including flow rates, temperatures, and pressures that influence production quality and efficiency.
- Follows daily operational instructions and performs quality control tests on products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Facilitates effective communication during shift changes to ensure seamless operations.
- Conducts regular inspections of the manufacturing area to identify and address mechanical or process-related issues.
- Completes assigned shifts and contributes to overtime coverage as needed.
- Performs physical tasks associated with the role, including climbing and operating machinery.
- Diagnoses and resolves equipment and process issues to enhance operational efficiency.
- Handles the loading and unloading of materials using appropriate equipment.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities as directed by supervisors.
Quality Assurance Responsibilities:
- Supports the achievement of quality objectives and key performance indicators.
- Proactively identifies and reports any product or process non-conformities.
- Controls the processing of non-conforming products until issues are resolved.
- Utilizes corrective action programs to address quality system failures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional post-secondary education is preferred.
- Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and navigating various work environments.
- Exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels is expected.
- Protective equipment will be provided and must be worn as required.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining the operational integrity and safety of the manufacturing process.
