Overview

The Physical Therapist Assistant plays a vital role in the provision of physical therapy services at Mercy Hospital. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will assist the Physical Therapist in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring that each individual receives personalized attention and support.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Physical Therapist in the development and implementation of treatment plans, ensuring that each patient's unique needs are met.
  • Perform physical therapy procedures and related tasks, modifying treatment plans as needed to accommodate changes in patient status.
  • Document patient progress notes, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of each patient's treatment and progress.
  • Provide technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide, ensuring that each team member is equipped to provide exceptional care.
  • Coordinate the workload in the department, prioritizing tasks and ensuring that each patient receives timely and effective care.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • An Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant studies.
  • A current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the applicable state.
  • Experience working in a physical therapy setting, preferably in an acute or outpatient setting.
  • A certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
