Orthopedic and Spine Specialty Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Orthopedic and Spine Specialty team at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
Responsibilities- Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Our newly outfitted Orthopedic and Spine Specialty unit is committed to the care of post-operative patients. We will establish a care team consisting of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care techs, clinical nurse coordinators, and unit secretaries. Our supportive nurse leaders, experienced leads, joint navigators, and exceptional physician support will ensure a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- BLS required upon hire.
- Minimum one year prior Registered Nurse/RN experience required. Previous clinical experience in area of specialty preferred.
