Job Title:

Senior Project Manager - Federal Civil Works

Job Summary:

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our Federal Civil Works projects. As a key member of our Water and Facilities Group, you will be responsible for delivering high-profile projects to our clients in the federal government.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead multiple civil works design teams and projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Estimate resource needs, schedule, and assign work to meet project milestone dates.
  • Identify, quantify, and communicate potential project risks and mitigation solutions.
  • Develop subcontractor Scope of Work, coordinate procurement activities, and facilitate execution of subcontractor activities.
  • Manage project change using change management protocols and communicate changes to stakeholders.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering quality, on-time project outcomes.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with clients to understand their needs and match with CDM Smith capabilities.
  • Mentor and staff development, including thorough performance appraisals.
  • Active participation in industry organizations, such as SAME and ASCE.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • PMP (PMI), CCM, or DBIA certification required within 12 months of hire.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience managing civil works design and similar projects for the federal government.
  • Strong demonstrated project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects from pursuit through closeout.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficient, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Business development skills and experience, such as client engagement and proposal preparation.
