Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in implementing educational activities and behavior management plans for students with disabilities.
- Provide support in maintaining a safe and orderly instructional environment.
- Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and community settings.
- Assist with instruction in the community setting as required.
- Participate in I.E.P. meetings as required.
- Perform other activities as required by building Principal or teachers.
- Previous experience working with children preferred but not required.
- Post-secondary coursework in an educational field preferred but not required.
- Initiative to be a self-starter.
- Ability to work well with classroom teachers, support staff, administrators, AEA, and parents of students as part of an educational team.
- Ability to be flexible in assignment given.
- Ability to use good judgment when unexpected problems arise.
- Ability to use office equipment.
