Store Manager Gainesville South Retail Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Goodwill of North Florida. As a key member of our retail store team in Gainesville South, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the store and driving sales results. This is a full-time position that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store, ensuring sales results are met, and delivering outstanding customer and donor service. Key responsibilities include:
• Supervising the processing of donated goods in a timely and accurate manner
• Coordinating with the Store Manager to ensure staff are properly trained and performing effectively
• Opening and closing the store in the absence of the Store Manager and Key Holder
Responsibilities
This role involves a range of responsibilities, including:
1. Managing the front-of-store operations, including managing sales floor appearances, processing customer transactions, and assisting customers with shopping needs.
2. Supervising the back-of-store operations, including maintaining well-organized production areas, training employees on processing, sorting, hanging, and organizing donated goods, and breaking down donations into appropriate bins of like merchandise.
3. Maintaining high standards of customer service by greeting donors, receiving merchandise, and providing itemized receipts if desired.
4. Reporting facilities issues and problems that need attention, making daily deposits, and communicating transportation needs and concerns with the Area Manager.
Requirements
We are looking for a motivated and organized individual with a minimum of 2 years of prior retail management experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. Additionally, they should have basic math calculations skills, proficiency with POS reporting procedures, and the ability to use basic office equipment such as a telephone and fax machine.
We offer a competitive salary of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. Other benefits include comprehensive health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
