Job Overview:



As a Psychotherapy Assistant at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing mental health services to our members. Under the supervision of a licensed Psychologist or board-certified Psychiatrist, you will work closely with our team to develop and implement clinical treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental illness.



Key Responsibilities:





  • Mental Health Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough assessments of members’ mental health needs and develop effective treatment plans to address their specific challenges.

  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with our healthcare team, including Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals, to provide comprehensive care to our members.

  • Psychotherapy and Counseling: Provide individual and group psychotherapy sessions to members, using evidence-based practices to promote mental health and wellness.

  • Crisis Intervention and Support: Respond to members’ crisis situations and provide supportive care to help them navigate challenging times.

  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of members’ treatment plans, progress, and outcomes.



Requirements:





  • Education: PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical, Counseling, Health or School Psychology from an accredited college or university.

  • License: Psychologist License (California) within 24 months of hire.

  • Registration: Psychological Assistant Registration (California) required at hire.

  • Experience: Completion of a psychology doctoral internship - minimum of 1 year (1500 hours).



Preferred Qualifications:





  • Clinical Experience: Previous clinical responsibility to include crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy.

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Demonstrated experience in psychological evaluations of adults, children, adolescents, & families, including administering & writing up psychological testing & assessment batteries.
