We have multiple locations, including Concord, NC, and Kings Mountain, NC.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Concord, NC terminal. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on our fleet of trucks and trailers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other equipment.
  • Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
  • Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
  • Rebuild gas or diesel engines.
  • Recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears, and valves.
  • Repair and adjust seats, doors, and windows, and install and repair accessories.
  • Specialize in repairing and maintaining parts of the engine, such as fuel injection systems.
  • Test drive trucks and buses to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure they are working properly.
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy duty truck technician.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, air conditioning, valves, brake, pumps, and other related systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Operations Required Include:

  • Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
  • Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery such as pumps and compressors.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
