Fire Protection Test Job Description

At Defenders, we're committed to providing top-notch fire protection services to our customers. As a Fire Protection Test professional, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients.

Job Summary

This position involves conducting routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems and other safety products. You'll operate with minimal supervision, providing guidance to junior inspectors and trainees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fire system inspections, tests, and services according to established procedures.
  • Provide coaching and training to others.
  • Ensure proper system operation and document work accurately and promptly.
  • Coordinate with service management for effective scheduling.
  • Communicate with customers to explain work and address inquiries.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction and positive experiences.
  • Prepare reports for management.
  • Manage truck inventory for timely customer response.
  • Adhere to company safety policies.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Requirements
  • High School/Vocational training.
  • Three or more years of experience.
  • Proficiency in inspecting fire safety equipment.
  • Skilled in using ADT Commercial applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of industry standards like NFPA 72 - NEC - IBC and NFPA 101.
  • Driver's license and ability to pass a drug screening.
Certifications/Licenses
  • NICET Level I in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Obtain NICET Level II within one year.
  • Obtain and maintain required state/local licenses.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions and electrical hazards.

  • Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule, on-call availability, and travel may be necessary.
Pay and Benefits

The hourly pay for this position is $40.38 and varies based on experience. Benefits include healthcare, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, paid time off, and 6 holidays.
