Job Summary

The Facilities / Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of company facilities and equipment. This includes ensuring that all safety procedures and guidelines are followed, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance and repair activities for company facilities and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Coordinate and manage tool room and inventory
  • Validate equipment, tools, and other purchases within the department
  • Coordinate and maintain schedules for PMs (preventative maintenance) and mandated inspections and certifications
  • Coordinate and accomplish repairs of facilities, equipment, or tools from breakdowns within a designated timeframe
  • Maintain a schedule and inspection of all emergency management equipment
  • Coordinate and maintain records for the removal and disposal of all recyclable materials
  • Perform thorough equipment inspections and identify potential problems that would cause equipment failure
  • Read and understand equipment manuals, service manuals, and parts manuals and contact vendors, obtain bids, purchase equipment, and coordinate arrival dates of the equipment and or parts
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments
Requirements
  • 7 years' experience in building and equipment maintenance and repair
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Knowledgeable in understanding and maintaining leases for properties and or equipment
  • Knowledgeable in the application and filing process for Federal, State, and Local permits and or licenses required for facility repairs or expansions
  • Experienced in working within budgets and accomplishing assignments within designated timeframes
  • Experienced in heavy equipment applications, including cranes, backhoes, forklifts, mechanical lifts, and other related shipbuilding equipment
  • Experienced in a wide variety of engines or motors, including diesel, gasoline, and electric powered equipment
  • Knowledgeable in a wide variety of hand and power tools and able to maintain and update an accurate inventory of all company owned equipment and tools
  • Capable of managing tool room and inventory to support production environment
  • Ability to validate all equipment, tools, and other purchases within the department and assure the accuracy of purchase orders, invoices, and bills of lading for accounting purposes
  • Ability to coordinate and maintain a schedule for PMs (preventative maintenance) on all company owned and leased equipment or tools
  • Ability to coordinate and maintain a schedule for mandated inspections and certifications on all company owned and leased equipment or tools
