Strong analytical skills are essential to filter, prioritize, and validate potentially intricate and dynamic material from various sources. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership roles within teams. Involved in mentoring and training new team members. The individual's performance significantly influences the work and outcomes of all teams in the area.Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that Credit Approval Memo (CAM) packages are comprehensive, precise, and thoroughly documented.
Assist Senior Underwriters in formulating recommendations and credit decisions, including risk assessments and regulatory classifications.
Conduct detailed analyses of financial data and other information provided by clients.
Perform projection modeling, stress testing, and other analyses utilizing research and evaluations from a broad range of sources.
Evaluate deal strengths, weaknesses, and risk factors.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and Citi guidelines, policies, and procedures for all transactions.
Stay informed on all aspects of the credit relationship, including exposure, compliance, and potential credit issues.
Oversee periodic credit monitoring of relationships, including Annual Reviews (ARs), Quarterly Reviews (QRs), and Criticized Credit Reviews (CCRs).
Notify bankers of any declines in operational performance based on financial reporting.
Support Senior Underwriters during internal reviews and external regulatory examinations.
Ensure thorough knowledge of safe and sound risk practices within Real Estate Credit, including all policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and risk limits specific to their portfolio.
Qualifications:
5-8 years of relevant experience.
Prior experience in Commercial Real Estate underwriting or credit, preferably within the financial services sector.
Ability to apply credit and risk principles to achieve business objectives.
Proven ability to synthesize, prioritize, and drive results with a strong sense of urgency.
Experience with Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) is advantageous.
Highly organized and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects; effective interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills are essential.
Strong organizational skills with the ability and willingness to work under pressure and manage time and priorities effectively with minimal supervision.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely to audiences of varying seniority levels.
