AECOM's Portland Transportation Group Seeks Experienced Civil Engineer

AECOM is a world-leading infrastructure consulting firm, and we're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our Portland Transportation group. As a key member of our team, you will work on a variety of transportation projects throughout AECOM's West Region, including roadway design, freight and transit track design, transportation and multi-modal planning, transit planning and design, and construction management and safety audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues throughout AECOM's West Region on rail/transit infrastructure projects for multiple state, local, and federal government clients.
  • Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work by others.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Use expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Directly manage junior-level staff.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Oregon Professional Engineers License or ability to obtain license within six months.
  • Experience with designs and plans production for transportation/civil infrastructure projects, including calculations.
  • Prior experience designing railroads/roadways for transportation projects.
  • Experience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems.
  • Experience using InRoads and/or Civil 3D design software packages for the conceptual and detailed design of horizontal and vertical alignments, sections, and 3D modeling on rail and/or highway projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Design Build experience preferred.
