Job Overview

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain thorough documentation that accurately represents our compliance status and to assist in the formulation and execution of policies and procedures aligned with NIST standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documentation Development: Create precise and straightforward documentation that details our organization’s compliance with NIST standards, including control descriptions, implementation guidance, and compliance evidence.
  • Policy Formulation: Work collaboratively with various teams to design and enhance policies and procedures essential for achieving and sustaining NIST compliance.
  • Compliance Assessment: Perform comprehensive gap analyses to pinpoint areas where compliance may be lacking and collaborate with stakeholders to devise and implement corrective action plans.
  • Audit Preparation: Aid in the preparation for and participation in audits and assessments concerning NIST compliance, ensuring all necessary documentation is current and accessible.
  • Ongoing Improvement: Keep informed about updates to the NIST framework and other pertinent regulations, continuously assessing and improving our compliance strategies to address evolving requirements and potential threats.
  • Effective Communication: Foster clear communication with internal stakeholders, including IT teams and management, to promote a culture of accountability and collaboration regarding NIST compliance.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Provide support for other compliance initiatives and technical writing tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of relevant technical writing experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Technical Writer, particularly in compliance-oriented roles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NIST Special Publication and its associated controls and requirements.
  • Exceptional writing and editing capabilities, with the skill to convert technical information into clear and user-friendly documentation.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices, along with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are advantageous.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
