Pharmacist Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team at AlixaRx. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our prescription fulfillment process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify prescriptions issued by physicians to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes, including weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
  • Direct and supervise other pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling, and changing prescription orders.
  • Ensure the accuracy of prescription orders and efficiently fulfill orders to meet customer needs.
  • Dispense medications, provide counseling and support to nursing facility staff on prescription and over-the-counter medications, and advise physicians on medication therapy.
  • Counsel nursing facility staff on general health topics, such as diet, exercise, and stress management, and provide information on products like durable medical equipment or home healthcare supplies.
  • Establish and maintain methods and styles of storage and record-keeping systems for safekeeping of medicines or pharmaceuticals.
  • Promote open communication between internal and external customers to enhance cooperative efforts, improve pharmacy service, and production performance.
  • Take ownership and accountability for the successful completion of all pharmacy production duties and tasks, and achievement of pharmacy branch goals.
  • Support customers after-hours, weekends, and holidays through on-call support processes.
  • Assist in promoting communication and adequate information flow throughout the pharmacy.
  • Assist in developing quality improvements and prescription order accuracy.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining interactions with physicians, residents, and facility administrators regarding prescription and pharmacy consulting issues, and be responsible and accountable for positive customer relations.
  • Assist in staff education on utilization management concepts and activities, pharmacy staff training evaluation, and development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.
  • Long-term care pharmacy experience as a Pharmacist is preferred.
  • License to practice pharmacy is required in the state of the position and must be willing to obtain licensure for multiple states per request of the General Manager.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
  • Keeps abreast of current state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Adhere to regulatory and company compliance, Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (OSHA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, etc.).
  • Advise pharmacy staff on changes to any known regulatory changes/updates.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess strong leadership abilities to coordinate multiple associates and provide direction to accomplish job functions.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or other Windows-based software programs.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information.
  • Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels.
