Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, diagnose and repair mechanical assemblies, and make replacement and prototype parts. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in an industrial setting, strong mechanical aptitude, and effective use of measuring tools.
Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment to ensure safe, proper, and efficient function.
- Diagnose problems with mechanical assemblies and repair or replace bearings, belts, pulleys, and gears.
- Identify problems with equipment and complete repairs with minimal downtime or supervision.
- Make replacement and prototype parts and fixtures by machining and fabrication.
- Offer technical support to Engineering and Production about equipment maintenance, process improvement, and overall manufacturing excellence.
- Perform basic electrical duties, including lighting, switches, running conduit, etc.
- Assist in the storage and management of replacement parts and components.
- Analyze, install, and maintain water, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Suggest and implement improved designs to existing equipment components and systems.
- Follow all Safety policies and procedures and offer suggestions to better protect all employees.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in an industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including the use of common hand tools.
- Experience with lathes, mills, and basic welding.
- Effective use of measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gages, etc.
- Knowledge of basic electrical skills with a willingness to learn more.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings and diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Understand basic math, including fractions, decimals, and measurement conversions.
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at once.
- Strong motivation to get things done, solve problems, and learn.
- Hold firm values and ethics.
Employees may be subject to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, breathing fumes, dust, and mist, skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid, and work in confined quarters if needed.
