Program Overview

MedStar Health is committed to advancing the practice of nursing and developing future nursing professionals. Our Nursing Student Development Program provides a unique opportunity for nursing students to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting while working alongside experienced RNs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside an RN mentor and care team to provide holistic and quality care to patients
  • Develop critical thinking skills and increase confidence as a nursing professional
  • Participate in bi-weekly interactive educational sessions for additional learning opportunities

Program Details

  • 36-40 hours per week during winter break
  • Flexible per diem schedule of 16 hours bi-weekly during spring semester
  • Pay: $20.12 per hour
  • Required Commitment: During winter mini cohort, you will work 36 to 40 hours per week during your winter break. Once your classes resume for the spring semester, you will transition to working a flexible per diem schedule of just 16 hours bi-weekly.

Requirements

  • Active enrollment in an accredited RN program
  • Must be graduating from your program in 2025
  • CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification by the Maryland Board of Nursing is required no later than one month prior to start date
  • BLS (CPR for Healthcare Providers) certification
