Job Overview

Position Summary: The Class A Truck Operator is responsible for transporting materials to designated locations while adhering to safety protocols and regulations.

Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to the role, though additional tasks may be assigned:

  1. Adheres to the Safety Program of Commercial Steel Erection, Inc., including all relevant rules and updates.
  2. Understands and complies with OSHA and DOT regulations regarding transportation and fleet safety.
  3. Familiarizes with supervisory staff, job tasks, hazard communication protocols, and emergency procedures.
  4. Operates various equipment including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and similar machinery.
  5. Sets up and dismantles cranes as required.
  6. Keeps accurate truck logs in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  7. Assembles, disassembles, and safely transports loads.
  8. Loads and unloads materials in a secure manner to protect personnel and property.
  9. Conducts daily inspections of the truck and equipment, reporting any deficiencies.
  10. Performs emergency roadside repairs, including tire changes and light bulb installations.
  11. Cleans and refuels the truck upon returning to the yard.
  12. This role may involve additional responsibilities as needed within the organization.

Qualifications: A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required. Candidates must meet the Motor Vehicle guidelines set by Commercial Steel Erection, Inc. Travel may be necessary.

Work Environment: The position involves regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions and vibrations. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles may occur. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
