Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including preparing patients for procedures, operating angiographic equipment, and assisting cardiologists with diagnostic heart catheterization and peripheral vascular intervention procedures.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for procedures by ensuring the cleanliness of the suite, setting up sterile procedure trays, and ensuring equipment is working properly.
- Assist cardiologists with diagnostic heart catheterization and peripheral vascular intervention procedures, including operating angiographic equipment and modifying its parameters as necessary.
- Administer contrast media via IV cannula, arterial access catheter, venous access catheter, or drainage catheter, as ordered by the cardiologist.
- Monitor patient response to contrast and report any adverse reactions to the cardiologist.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and actively contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols.
- Current Active Iowa RT(R) Licensure
- Two years prior experience with general vascular and/or coronary angiography preferred
- BCLS and ACLS certifications
