AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Clinical Psychologist to provide mental health services to inmates at a correctional facility in Stockton, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with supervisors and treatment team members to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Document all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings.
  • Monitor inmate progress using CDCR Mental Health approved documentation formatting.
  • Apply community standard of practices for non-medical treatment modalities and ethical standards.
  • Perform mental status exams and conduct face-to-face clinical interviews.
  • Examine prior mental health records and develop treatment plans.
  • Conduct mental health education and develop resources for mentally ill and sex offender patients.
  • Assist patients in applying for entitlement benefits and community programs.
  • Facilitate patient transitions between settings within the institution.
  • Perform pre-release functions, including patient education and transition to community mental health treatment programs.
  • Provide information to support staff for data entry and written reports to the Board of Prison Hearings.
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Represent the Department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters.
  • Protect and maintain safety and security of property and supervise the conduct of persons committed to the correctional facility.

Requirements:

A Clinical Psychologist license by the California State Board of Psychology is required.
