As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Certified Clinical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting patient care within designated clinical settings. This position involves assisting healthcare providers with patient assessments, medical procedures, diagnostic evaluations, treatment protocols, and wound care, while also performing essential administrative tasks in compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all necessary laboratory tests and diagnostic evaluations are completed prior to patient appointments, with results readily available for the provider.
  • Accurately measure and document patient vital signs, height, weight, and the purpose of the visit. Review and update patient records, including preventive care, allergies, and medications.
  • Guide patients to examination areas, assist them in preparing for their assessments, and inform the provider of patient readiness.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, including imaging and laboratory tests, and assist with prescription pre-certifications as needed.
  • Maintain professional communication with colleagues and assist providers with patient follow-up calls and prescription processing.
  • Ensure patient consent forms for treatments and procedures are properly signed and documented.
  • Act as a communication bridge between healthcare providers and other departments, agencies, and pharmaceutical representatives.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy regulations.
  • Coordinate with external laboratories to facilitate patient care.
  • Oversee the quality control of medical supplies and medications.
  • Keep clinical areas organized, stocked, and sanitized.
  • Provide patients with health information resources and direct them to appropriate educational materials.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.

Work Schedule:

This position typically requires availability Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend shifts based on the operational needs of the practice.


Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) is required.

Experience:
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a medical office setting.

Licensure / Certification:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory, obtained through a recognized provider.
  • CMA certification must be achieved within six months of employment for those hired after a specified date.
