Job Summary

The Control Systems Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our water utility systems. This position will be responsible for coordinating electrical, electronic, and SCADA maintenance, as well as performing and assisting in program development for data accumulation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, install, repair, service, and calibrate process and control instrumentation, including tele-metering, transmitting, and receiving equipment, CPUs, multiplexing equipment, flow totalizers, meter and control equipment, recording equipment, and electronic supervisory control equipment.
  • Manage projects related to SCADA, electrical, and mechanical systems, including upgrades and maintenance.
  • Train utility employees on SCADA, electrical, and mechanical operations and projects.
  • Provide direction to utility personnel on emergency and non-emergency systems operation.
  • Assist in creating policies and procedures related to SCADA systems and equipment operations.
  • Review invoices related to SCADA, electrical, and mechanical maintenance or projects.
  • Coordinate electrical maintenance in water utility pumping facilities, office, and shop buildings.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program.
  • Set up pump sequencing and operations within SCADA equipment to ensure adequate supply pressures and flow in the distribution system.
  • Coordinate and maintain wiring between computer terminals and peripheral equipment.
  • Interpret schematic electrical, electronic, and pneumatic control drawings and technical data.
  • Prepare daily, monthly, annual, and other reports related to maintenance, electrical, electronic, SCADA systems, or mechanical systems.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical, electronic, and SCADA systems, as well as experience in project management and training. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
