Position Overview:
• This role is entirely focused on inpatient care.
• Candidates should have experience assisting in cardiac surgeries, including vein harvesting and valve replacements.
• Responsibilities include surgical assistance in the operating room for cardiac procedures.
• Flexible scheduling with various shifts available, including call shifts and 10-hour OR shifts.
• Weekend coverage may be required based on shift assignments.
• Call responsibilities will be part of this contingent position, covering open shifts as needed.
• Expected OR time is 4-5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent evaluations of patients in a hospital setting.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results, adjusting care plans accordingly.
- Provide clinical guidance for patient medication management.
- Maintain precise documentation of patient evaluations, status, and treatments.
- Ensure patient safety and satisfaction through related duties.
- Engage in educational initiatives for patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Duties:
- Collaborate with physicians to deliver acute and routine medical care to patients in cardiac surgery.
- Write appropriate medical orders as necessary.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
- Coordinate patient care activities with support staff.
- Document patient progress in the electronic medical record.
- Provide health education to patients and families.
- Participate in professional development through educational programs and workshops.
