Position Overview

This is a term appointment expected to last for an initial period of over one year, with the possibility of extension based on regulatory changes. This role does not confer permanent status within the Federal service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive visual and audio production services across various park divisions, adhering to established national guidelines and industry standards.
  • Strategically plan and design visual elements for printed materials, including photographs, illustrations, diagrams, and charts, ensuring effective communication through various mediums such as books, pamphlets, and digital content.
  • Create layouts for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional displays, utilizing electronic devices to enhance viewer engagement and access to information.
  • Collaborate in the development of exhibits and prepare interpretive media, employing universal design principles to ensure accessibility.
  • Manage the visual information components of public affairs initiatives, supporting outreach through multimedia communications.
  • Ensure all digital content complies with relevant laws and accessibility standards.
  • For specific locations, responsibilities will include enhancing virtual presence and improving accessibility in civic engagement, as well as developing a digital asset database.

Employment Conditions

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Appointment is contingent upon successful background investigation.
  • Participation in the Direct Deposit Electronic Funds Transfer Program is mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for the role.
  • Uniform compliance with National Park Service standards is required.
  • Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet specific experience or educational requirements to qualify for this position. Relevant experience includes specialized work comparable to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or a combination of education and experience in fields related to visual communication and production.
