Key Responsibilities:

As a Facility Operations Engineer, you will play a vital role in the aerospace and defense sector, focusing on the operation, upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of facility systems. Your expertise in a specific technical area such as Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations will be essential, alongside your ability to perform across multiple disciplines to effectively manage daily tasks.

  • Conduct maintenance and monitor repairs for Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Oversee facility services, preventative maintenance, procurement, inventory management, and technical expertise.
  • Maintain optimal performance of HVAC systems through cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing components as necessary.
  • Record operational readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure equipment functions correctly.
  • Adhere to safety protocols for the storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Regularly check and manage tool and instrument inventory.
  • Evaluate the quality and cost of maintenance work performed by external contractors.
  • Be prepared to perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, and different times of day.
  • This position operates on a 24/7 schedule, requiring flexibility in shift work.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot Commercial or Industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification is advantageous.
  • 3-8 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
  • Two years of technical training in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC is preferred.
