Job Summary

The Pipefitter - Mechanical Projects Specialist is responsible for working on commercial mechanical projects, handling the layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical piping systems and pipe supports.


Key Responsibilities
  • Reads and understands isometric drawings to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of mechanical piping systems.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains mechanical piping systems, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic pipes, tubes, and fittings.
  • Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Connects pipes using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, solvent welded joints, pressed, and grooved.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Requirements
  • Experience in assembling and installing a variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings.
  • Skilled in connecting pipes using various methods, including threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, solvent welded joints, pressed, and grooved.
  • Ability to read and understand isometric drawings.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements
  • Use oxygen and acetylene rig to cut and bevel pipe, angle iron, brackets, etc.
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
  • Climb stairs.
  • Move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
  • Repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Operate machinery and/or power tools.
  • Work in outdoor elements, such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
  • Work in a noisy environment.
  • Perform light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from pounds.

Pay Range

USD $31.00 /Hr.
