At Wegman, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Real Estate Transaction Specialist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in real estate law to deliver exceptional results and drive business growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned professional with at least five years of experience in real estate paralegal work within a law firm. You will be responsible for providing organizational and practice-specific assistance to attorneys in the Real Estate Department, handling complex transactions from pre- to post-closing duties.

Main Responsibilities
  • Drafting, managing, and organizing various documents related to real estate transactions, including escrow instructions, title and survey review, entity formations, UCC searches, local transfer requirements, and due diligence.
  • Utilizing, creating, or establishing procedures to manage large, complex transactions; attending closings and managing closing rooms; coordinating workflow and executing closing documents; tracking, obtaining, and organizing pre- and post-closing documents to ensure performance of obligations.
  • Drafting closing documents, including basic agreements and third-party consents; compiling information and preparing schedules and exhibits to agreements.
  • Assisting with post-closing matters, including mailings, closing binders, and transfers agreements.
  • Managing the preparation and filing of various documents, including amendments and closing documents, as well as preparing opinions for partner approval.
  • Serving as a mentor to and providing leadership and training for mid- and entry-level paralegals and paralegal clerks.
  • Maintaining timely and accurate timekeeping records.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and Paralegal certification required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of real estate paralegal experience within a law firm with demonstrated knowledge of complex issues within the real estate practice area.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.
