Logistics Coordinator - Freight Management:
Design and implement strategic truck transportation initiatives for various Land O'Lakes production sites. Oversee transportation activities and optimize carrier usage to guarantee timely deliveries and enhance customer satisfaction. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Commodity Buyers, Coordinators, Material Resource Planners, Manufacturing Staff, and Customer Service Representatives.

Manage freight bill processing and assist the Accounts Payable team in resolving billing discrepancies. Proactively develop, propose, and execute cost reduction and service enhancement strategies. Cultivate and oversee relationships with key service providers through regular meetings, implement corrective measures as necessary, and uphold accountability to achieve superior service standards. Participate in monthly team discussions to report on established KPIs, share pertinent market insights, and align on strategic initiatives.
Rail Transportation Management:
Facilitate inbound, interplant, and outbound rail logistics with both short line and Class I Railroads. Monitor and track rail assets to prevent ingredient shortages at central plants. Document and address service performance challenges with rail providers. Resolve billing discrepancies, misrouted shipments, and issues related to lost or delayed railcars.
Qualifications:
  • Education (Required): Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a transportation-related role.
  • Core Competencies (Required): Excellent verbal and written communication skills; results-oriented; integrity; customer-centric; proficient in systems knowledge; adept in problem-solving and decision-making; strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Preferred Competencies: Adaptability, effective communication, relationship building, customer focus, and the capacity to manage stress in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with OTM software (Oracle Transportation Management), Excel, and Power BI is advantageous.
