Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management
    • Manage and organize daily operations of the manufacturing plant and monitor performance.
    • Provide safety leadership to all personnel at the location.
    • Organize and maintain a safe workplace according to legal and SMS group standards.
  • Supply Chain Management
    • Coordinate with the Quality Department to ensure quality standards, processes, and procedures are adhered to.
    • Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Workforce Management
    • Implement and execute effective workforce management practices to strategically optimize the productivity of employees.
    • Forecasting, staffing, scheduling, asset tracking, and making adjustments in real-time when unexpected changes occur.
  • Business Development
    • Assess production capacity to ensure the supply chain is equipped to meet demand.
    • Identify how and when to scale, identify bottlenecks, and mitigate risk.
  • Financial Management
    • Develop budgets, capital plans, and execute to meet operational needs.
    • Partner with accounting to ensure accurate reporting of data to upper management.
  • Communication and Leadership
    • Maintain continual communication with all customers and employees.
    • Encourage feedback and respond in a timely manner.
    • Serve as a mentor to employees.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required. A degree in business, engineering, or technical field is preferred.
  • Five to ten years of applicable operations management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of operations management principles and practices.
  • Possesses social perceptiveness — is aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
  • Displays persistence in the face of obstacles.
  • Able to utilize active listening skills — giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
  • Knowledge of HR principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices and reporting of financial data.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
