Job Title: Residential Counselor

At MAB Community Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in our cluster homes, promoting their personal growth and community membership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and guidance to participants in cluster homes, ensuring a safe and clean living environment.
  • Assist participants with daily living activities, such as bathing, cooking, and cleaning, and provide direct physical support as needed.
  • Advocate for participants' choices, interests, and needs, ensuring their Individual Support Plan (ISP) is implemented consistently.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with participants, their families, and community partners.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and provide positive behavioral supports, using sound judgment in challenging situations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree and/or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with participants, families, and community professionals.
  • Valid MA driver's license and ability to drive program vehicles and wheelchair vans.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry lightweight and moderately heavy objects, and assist in lifting and transferring participants.
  • Comfort with computers and ability to learn new reporting software.
Work Schedule:

NBS RC4: Wednesday 2p-11p, Thursday 2p-10p, Friday 2p-11p, Saturday 9a-11p, 40 hours.
