Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to infants, children, and adolescents in our pediatric intensive care units and general pediatric floors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer respiratory therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Use evidence-based practices, clinical decision making, and skilled communication to lead efforts in creating a safe patient environment and delivering the best patient experience.
  • Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues, assisting physicians with bedside or other procedures as applicable.
  • Provide medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient-driven respiratory protocols as prescribed.
  • Clean, maintain, and ensure proper functionality of equipment, troubleshooting issues as necessary.
  • Educate and instruct patients in purpose, technique, self-care, goal of therapy, and disease management.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with a minimum of an associate degree.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $32.78 - $46.60 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Shift differentials for PM, Nights, Weekends (based on job profile)
  • 401(k) company contribution: 3% of your eligible annual salary AND 401(k) employer match: dollar-for-dollar match up to 3%
  • Opportunity for yearly merit increases within the salary range
