The Operations Electrical Engineer I plays a crucial role in the design, enhancement, testing, and execution of electrical systems and methodologies utilized in the production of goods within the medical, dental, and animal health sectors.

This position leverages knowledge of fundamental circuit design, data interpretation, testing, and production equipment capabilities along with quality assurance standards.

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
Modifies, maintains, or repairs electrical, electronic, or mechanical components, equipment, or systems to ensure optimal performance.

Collaborates with engineering teams to implement electromechanical designs in various environments.

Creates and interprets basic electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.


Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, spatial requirements, and workflow, designing layouts for electrical equipment and product testing apparatus to maximize efficiency.

Applies foundational knowledge to assess test outcomes and troubleshoot the root causes of electrical system failures.

Communicates effectively within the team and escalates issues to management as necessary.

Consults with internal and external stakeholders to ascertain specifications for equipment, materials, and components to enhance problem-solving efforts.

Evaluates products from a manufacturing standpoint based on specifications and quality standards pertinent to electrical and software systems.

Adheres to best practices and actively participates in discussions, meetings, and brainstorming sessions related to assigned tasks. Makes decisions within the scope of assigned responsibilities under guidance and escalates issues as appropriate.


Identifies and collaborates on improvements aimed at reducing costs, enhancing quality, and increasing repeatability, often through the application of data collection or automation tools.

Documents and maintains work instructions.

Complies with industry standards and regulations concerning quality, safety, and performance.

Acquires knowledge of established and emerging technical tools and methodologies.

Employs a structured approach to problem-solving to enhance and innovate production processes.

Implements solutions, identifies, and raises project risks, and contributes as a team member.

Drafts and executes technical documentation such as verification and validation protocols, corrective actions, and quality alerts.

Maintains product databases by developing computer programs and entering relevant data.

SECONDARY DUTIES:
Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to co-op students.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

COMPETENCY and/or SKILL:
Strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal)

Understanding of testing equipment, fixtures, and process design concepts

Familiarity with basic engineering tools and methodologies

Ability to apply problem-solving skills to identify root causes and propose solutions

Experience with Microsoft Office, design, and other business software applications

Comprehension of fundamental product design methodologies

Basic understanding of analog and digital circuits, power systems, microcontrollers, and signal processing

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to technicians and co-op students.
