Pumpout Facility Inspector

The State of Connecticut is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Pumpout Facility Inspector. This is a seasonal position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to inspect and evaluate pumpout facilities throughout the state.

• Inspect and evaluate pumpout facilities to ensure compliance with state regulations and standards.
• Enter inspection data into the Clean Vessel Act database.
• Assist with the review of grant applications and preparation of the federal grant application.
• Report conditions at pumpout facilities that are not operating at optimal levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Valid Connecticut driver's license.
• Certificate of Personal Watercraft or Safe Boating Certificate.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Experience with Microsoft Access and Excel preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitary pumpout facility operations preferred.

Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain adequate physical strength and stamina to perform the duties of the class. Incumbents performing lifeguard services must be able to demonstrate American Red Cross (ARC) waterfront lifeguarding swimming skills.
