Job Title: Pumpout Facility Inspector

The State of Connecticut is seeking a Pumpout Facility Inspector to join our team in the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. As a Pumpout Facility Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting pumpout facilities and vessels throughout the state to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect pumpout facilities and vessels to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Enter inspection data into the Clean Vessel Act database
  • Assist with the review of grant applications during the competitive application process
  • Report conditions at pumpout facilities that are not operating at optimal levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license required
  • Certificate of Personal Watercraft or Safe Boating Certificate required
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with using Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Experience with recreational boating and marina operations
  • Knowledge of sanitary pumpout facility operations
Special Requirements:
  • Incumbents in this class may be required to meet any of the following: proof of possession of a valid Motor Vehicle Operator license, possession of a valid license to apply pesticides, college training in a specific field, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
Physical Requirements:
  • Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain adequate physical strength and stamina to perform the duties of the class
