Job Summary

Purple Inc is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to support the achievement of our site's business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working in a maintenance capacity.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions, to deal with problems from various situations.
  • Mathematics Ability: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide 10's and 100's by 2, 3, 4, and 5, perform the four basic arithmetic operations with coins as part of a dollar, and perform operations with units such as inch, foot, yard, ounce, and pound.
  • Language Ability: Ability to print (to inscribe by whatever means) simple sentences, series of numbers, names, and addresses. Also, includes the ability to communicate in simple sentences.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to warehousing.
  • Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.
Physical Requirements
  • Remaining in stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.
Environmental Conditions
  • The worker is subject to a variety of environmental conditions, both inside and out.
  • The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from weather.
  • The worker is subject to extreme cold - temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of over one hour.
  • The worker is subject to extreme heat - temperatures in excess of 100 degrees for periods of over one hour.
  • The worker is subject to noise - sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the surrounding noise level.
  • The worker is subject to vibration - exposure to oscillation movement of the extremities of the whole body.
  • The worker is subject to hazards. This category includes, but is not limited to, close proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, elevated working surfaces, exposure to heat, and exposure to chemicals (airborne and/or skin exposure).
  • The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions - one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
