Ship Repair Project Manager Overview
We are looking for a Ship Repair Project Manager to direct and manage all facets of ship repair initiatives, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget constraints, and the highest quality standards.
This position demands a meticulous professional with robust project management capabilities, profound knowledge of ship repair methodologies, and the aptitude to effectively lead cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities of the Ship Repair Project ManagerProject Planning and Coordination:
- Formulate detailed project plans encompassing scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations for ship repair projects.
- Collaborate with diverse departments to guarantee alignment and efficient execution of project activities.
- Establish project milestones, deliverables, and schedules, managing the project lifecycle from inception to completion.
- Develop and oversee project budgets, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
- Track project spending, monitor costs, and ensure projects are finalized within financial parameters.
- Supervise the procurement and distribution of resources and materials necessary for repair tasks.
- Inspire and guide project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
- Ensure all repair operations adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and company protocols.
- Implement and supervise quality control measures to uphold exceptional standards of workmanship and safety.
- Act as the primary liaison for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and deliver project status updates to senior management and stakeholders.

- Address and resolve any challenges or issues that arise during the project to minimize disruptions.
- Maintain precise and comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
- Extensive background, skills, knowledge, and experience in marine design, engineering, and manufacturing methods commonly utilized in marine new construction and service work.
- Proficient understanding of ship construction, repair, and conversion, including vessel types, systems, and components.
- Skilled in conflict resolution and guiding stakeholders towards realistic consensus while safeguarding the needs and relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of current regulations, standards, and practices of regulatory bodies, including USCG, classification societies, and the marine industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Project.
