Job Title: Histology Department Manager

At Sonic Anatomic Pathology, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Histology Department Manager to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the histology department, ensuring the highest quality and productivity standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the histology department, including staff supervision, training, and competency assessment.
  • Develop and implement productivity, quality, and turnaround time (TAT) metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee and perform histology work, including grossing, embedding, cutting, staining, and quality assurance.
  • Maintain all quality and service standards, including laboratory inspections and preparation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless laboratory operations.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in a related field, with a minimum of 1-3 years of histology supervisory experience.
  • Meet all state and local licensing requirements, as well as College of American Pathologists (CAP) and CLIA requirements.
