About the Role:

Mass Audubon is seeking a dynamic leader to drive conservation efforts in the Metro South region of Massachusetts. The successful candidate will have a strong background in community engagement, environmental equity and justice, conservation, education, and fundraising.

\

Responsibilities:

\
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to engage the Metro South community in conservation efforts
  • Build relationships with local stakeholders, including community groups, businesses, and government agencies
  • Develop educational programs to promote conservation awareness and knowledge
  • Secure funding to support conservation initiatives
  • Supervise regional staff and prepare/implement annual workplans and budgets
  • Lead donor cultivation, grant writing, and fundraising activities planned in coordination with the Development staff
  • Collaborate with a statewide team of Directors on organization-wide goals, sharing of resources, and desired impact

Qualifications:

\
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in non-profit management, community engagement, natural resources management, environmental education, planning, biology, or related field
  • Strong background in non-profit management, fundraising, and community engagement
  • Eight to ten years of work experience in non-profit management, community engagement, program coordination, environmental education, or environmental management
  • At least six years of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor
  • Experience leading and managing in a multi-faceted organization
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work well with staff, volunteers, visitors, partners, and community leaders
  • Able to establish effective Mass Audubon presence in surrounding communities
