Job Description Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the hotel's housekeeping and laundry operations meet the highest standards of quality and service. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, this position is responsible for assisting in the supervision of housekeeping staff, inspecting rooms, and performing cleaning duties in all areas of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure that all guests receive a clean and comfortable room.
  • Partner with the Housekeeping Manager to recruit, develop, and manage housekeeping staff, ensuring they have the necessary tools and equipment to perform their duties effectively.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas to ensure they meet the brand's standards for cleanliness and quality.
  • Assist with training and retraining of housekeeping staff as needed.
  • Manage room cleaning assignments and schedules to ensure proper coverage.
  • Perform all housekeeping duties necessary to ensure guest satisfaction and owner expectations.
  • Inventory and maintain par levels for linen and room supplies.
  • Monitor commercial laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order.
  • Manage lost and found items.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus two years housekeeping experience, including some supervisory training/experience.
  • Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
  • Reading and writing abilities required for documentation, ordering supplies, and receiving instructions.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Frequently standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
  • Will be required to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals.
  • Carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
