Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment: Assess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with a physician.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with the physician in the healthcare of patients with chronic illnesses.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Responsible for the diagnosis and treatments of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, positive behaviors, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
  • Medical Records: Maintain legible, accurate, and confidential medical records.
  • Documentation: Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, and referrals.
  • Medical Examinations: Serve as Medical Examiner and perform Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations or be willing to obtain certification.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Order diagnostic tests as appropriate.
  • Prescription Management: Prescribe medications within scope of license.
  • Quality Assurance: Facilitate evaluation of records by physician(s), peers, for quality and standards according to protocols and receive and implement constructive directives.
  • Preventive Care: Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, self-care skills, and use of prescribed medical treatments and medications through education and counseling.
  • Professional Development: Analyze new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands-on training and assimilate this knowledge into clinical practice.
  • Attendance and Reliability: Regular attendance to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Certified Registered Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) OR Current Licensure as a Physician Assistant (PANCE)(NCCPA).
  • Availability: Ability and willingness to work weekend and holiday work as required.
  • Personality and Skills: Flexible, self-motivated individual who is dedicated to quality patient care and customer satisfaction.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Certification: Willing to work with multiple covering physicians in addition to collaborating physician.
  • DOT Certification: Projects a positive image and has a Patients First attitude.
  • Desirable Experience: Prior experience in primary/urgent care or internal medicine practice is desirable.
  • DOT Certification: DOT Certification Preferred or willing to obtain upon hire.
  • Work Schedule: Must be able to manage patients on our weight loss program, perform pre-op physicals and treat primary care and urgent care patients.
  • Work Hours: Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends/holidays at both our Willowbrook & Naperville locations.
