Optical Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Expert to join our team at EssilorLuxottica. As an Optical Expert, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient experiences through the selection, measurement, ordering, and fitting of eyewear. This role requires strong customer service skills, knowledge of inventory management systems, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
• Act as a leader in optical acumen, providing guidance and support to peers.
• Take and record measurements, adjust or fit eyewear correctly, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and patient requirements.
• Explore patient needs and priorities through open-ended questioning.
• Assist peers with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Utilize practice tools and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Anticipate problems, develop long-term solutions, and ensure patient satisfaction.
• Possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Commit to delivery dates and times, seek feedback, and ask for referrals.
• Strive for exceptional results on KPIs and competencies.
• Present, celebrate, and educate patients at the time of dispense.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and organized practice appearance.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.

• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounting, promotions, and inventory management.
• Work weekends and evenings as needed to support business requirements.

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Active state optical licensure; must maintain license.
• Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and team-building abilities.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Sales skills, including the ability to use and carry a tablet.
• Embracing new technology and change.

• Previous eyecare and/or customer service experience.
• Familiarity with technology, such as point-of-sale, patient record systems, and other software applications.
