The individual in this role will provide comprehensive leadership and strategic direction for the MLI Interior division, which encompasses the cabinet workshop, seating, textiles, and installation teams. This position is pivotal in establishing objectives aimed at surpassing standards in quality, productivity, efficiency, safety, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the formulation of the annual budget and staffing strategy in collaboration with the Sales department to achieve profitability targets, continuously monitoring and adjusting as necessary to align with sales goals and budget constraints.
- Develop and communicate annual business objectives (MBOs) for each supervisor, ensuring alignment with the budget and strategic vision, and regularly review progress towards these objectives.
- Lead the design and execution of process enhancements to boost efficiency, elevate quality, minimize costs, reduce downtime, standardize operations, and eliminate warranty claims and rework.
- Manage the Production Scheduling function to optimize resource utilization and ensure timely project completion with zero defects.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to create and implement an annual staffing plan that aligns with budgetary and strategic needs, actively participating in recruitment efforts as per the strategic hiring plan.
- Conduct an annual needs assessment to identify necessary capital investments (e.g., tools and equipment) to support the strategic or tactical objectives for the year.
- Direct the completion of an annual training needs assessment to ensure that supervisors and their teams receive the necessary training for professional development and compliance with service center requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication across all levels of the organization, acting as a liaison between department management and executive leadership to ensure all personnel are informed of significant decisions and policy changes.
Qualifications:
- A&P License or equivalent knowledge is preferred.
- Proven experience in written and verbal communication.
- Ability to engage with all levels of staff and management, fostering effective working relationships.
- Proficient in managing multiple projects independently, prioritizing tasks, and completing assignments in a dynamic environment.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation maintenance and relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Demonstrated success in managing general aviation maintenance processes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and analyze complex information.
- Skilled in delivering persuasive presentations on intricate topics to senior management and stakeholders.
- Proficient in drafting reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and retain necessary airport access credentials.
- Consistent attendance is essential.
Education and Experience:
- 15 years of experience in aircraft or general aviation technical roles is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Aviation Management is preferred.
