Job Summary

The Food Service Assistant is a vital member of our team at the Good Samaritan Society, responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food service to our residents. Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and record the proper temperature of food to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area, including tables, chairs, and equipment.
  • Prepare and serve food items, including cooking, reheating, and plating.
  • Restock food areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and pantries.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, including dishwashers, ovens, and utensils.
  • Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Previous customer service experience, retail counting, and reconciliation of money.
  • Knowledge of food service and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in the food industry.
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service.
