Trauma Registry Specialist

Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the Trauma Registry by capturing and abstracting medical records, coding diagnoses, and submitting data to the State. Collaborate with the Manager to trend aggregate data and evaluate Trauma Program performance.
Responsibilities:- Identify patients with trauma diagnoses and abstract medical records for registry information
- Coding diagnoses according to AIS scoring data and submitting trauma registry data to the State
- Maintain quality assurance issues related to the registry
- Produce reports from the trauma registry for injury research, performance/quality improvement, and clinic administration
- Two years' experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Completion of a recognized course of study in Trauma Registrar, Nurse/Medical Assistant, or Health Information Coder
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work independently
- Ability to manage data entry deadlines and center's accreditation processes
- Certification by the American Health Information Management Association (CCS and/or A.R.T.)
- CSTR (Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries) certification
$38.44/hour
