Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Next GenHealth Staffing. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respiratory Care Delivery
    • Perform all basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
    • Apply and manage mechanical ventilators in collaboration with physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners, recommending adjustments to improve clinical condition, patient comfort and to expedite the weaning process.
  • Patient Assessment and Evaluation
    • Perform patient assessments and evaluate patient response to care provided, making recommendations to physicians regarding the plan of care, appropriate use of respiratory therapy and modification of therapy as clinical condition changes.
  • Diagnostic Testing and Equipment Management
    • Perform pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
    • Assemble, disassemble, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, clean and perform adjustments in the applications of durable medical equipment and circuitry used in the delivery of respiratory care as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate and collaborate with resource staff in formulating care plans, recommendations for change in therapy and identification/resolution of problems and when confronted with unfamiliar situations, procedures and techniques.
  • Quality Improvement and Patient Safety
    • Monitor daily workflow of departmental processes, and work assigned shifts in areas of oversight. Maintain skills to perform all functions in area of oversight. Acts as a subject matter expert and resource for departmental staff.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications
    • Must have successfully completed an accredited RRT program.
    • Must be a REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (CRTs will NOT be considered).
    • Must have BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Experience and Qualifications
    • Must have a minimum experience level of one (1) year.
    • Candidates with Florida licenses are preferred.
