About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Party Chief to join our team at Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. in Raleigh, NC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of survey field crew members in performing a variety of field tasks associated with surveying and geospatial data collection.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to junior staff members, including training and mentoring.
  • Coordinate with contractors to provide survey services and ensure that all necessary information is gathered to conduct the survey efficiently.
  • Identify controls for property lines and make decisions regarding how to proceed with the survey.
  • Communicate with clients and management to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required, associate's degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience working on a land surveying party.
  • Prior Party Chief experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction stakeout procedures and practices.
  • Familiarity with field procedures for performing boundary and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
  • Ability to perform all aspects of data collected field fun topographic surveys, road frontage cross-section surveys, and as-built surveys.
Working Environment
  • Partly indoor professional office environment with occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment and data collection equipment.
  • Primarily local travel during the business day, with occasional out-of-the-area and overnight travel.
