Behavioral Interventionist

About the Role:

The University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System is seeking a skilled Behavioral Interventionist to join our Adult Psychiatry Inpatient Unit. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide patient care utilizing the Relationship-Based Care model as a framework.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient care to individuals with mental illness, emotional conditions, and/or developmental disabilities.
• Systematically observe, report, and document patient psychological and behavioral states.
• Develop and maintain therapeutic alliances with patients and their families.
• Facilitate, lead, and/or participate in scheduled individual or group therapeutic patient activities.
• Evaluate patient response and attempt to modify behavior through interventions outlined by the treatment team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree with 18 semester hours in one or more of the behavioral sciences.
• Four (4) years (48 months) of direct patient care experience in a psychiatric or mental health care setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) - two (2) years previous inpatient behavioral health experience.
• CPI certified or to be obtained once hired.
