Job Summary

Mountain View Hospital is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist/CNA to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples, processing routine and specialty testing, and returning results to doctors. You will also be responsible for obtaining and processing doctor's orders, data entry, and providing excellent customer service to patients, doctors, and medical staff.

Responsibilities
  1. Collect blood samples and other body fluids, ensuring proper patient identification and labeling of samples.
  2. Follow hospital policies and procedures for transporting and delivering samples to the laboratory.
  3. Knowledge of laboratory testing menu and specimen stability and suitability.
  4. Ensure that patients receive appropriate competent and quality clinical care and that customer service meets patient's expectations.
  5. Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  6. Maintain, develop, and utilize professional relationships with a wide range of organizations and specialists.
  7. Maintain strict quality control for procedures.
  8. Organize requisitions received for collection, maintain records of tests performed, scan orders and lab results into electronic medical system, print and fax lab reports to ordering doctor.
  9. Orient and mentor new staff members.
  10. Show great customer service on the phone and in person to anyone that enters the laboratory.
  11. Perform miscellaneous tasks that promote smooth operations.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or higher.
  • Valid Certificate Phlebotomist, Certificate, Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Phlebotomy course or 6 months phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience with computers and office equipment.
  • The ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Mental capabilities: sound judgments, organized, multi-tasker, and critical thinker.
  • Interpersonal skills: good communication skills, ability to work well with others, team player, and flexible.
